Our Mission

Kismet Equestrian is proud to offer horses for sale and lease to riders of all different levels of equine experience. From those who have never been around a horse, to those who wish to compete, Kismet Equestrian helps you set and reach the goals that are important to you. We strive for safety, fun, and an excellent equine and rider match.

We are also pleased to offer knowledgeable and quality care to our boarding horses, whether stall board or pasture. We know how much your partner means to you, and treat them like they're one of ours so that you can focus on enjoying your ride together.

The Trainer
Jessica Setlik

Having loved horses from a very young age, Jessica began riding at age 5. Seeing that she was hooked, her parents allowed her to have a pony on their 20 acre farm in Illinois, provided that she take care of it herself. By this, she learned plenty of horsemanship skills and "stickability".

Soon after their purchase of her pony, Jessica began taking lessons with Brandy Wright of Synchronicity Riding School, an equitation based barn, to sharpen her hunter and equitation skills. Through Brandy, Jessica was referred to Patricia Brewster, a european trained Jumper rider and trainer, who helped hone her jumper skills. Both trainers served as highly influential mentors in both aspects of riding and teaching methods.

After a move brought her to middle Tennessee, Jessica resumed her education with Gait Keeper Farm, where she would manage the barn and teach for 3 years, developing her passion for teaching others the love of the sport and animal. During this time, Jessica rode in the 2015 USHJA Emerging Athletes Program with Candice King and Anne Thornbury. She also had opportunities to ride and audit several other clinics with such esteemed riders as Richard Watson, Joe Fargis, and Geoff Teall.

After an offer was made, Jessica moved to California to manage and ride for John Pearce, a Canadian Olympic rider. Through this position, she met Andrea Correll, whom she assisted and rode for during the 2016 HITS Thermal Dessert Circuit with great success.

While riding and coaching at HITS, Jessica realized  how much she missed teaching, and so moved back to Tennessee to begin a barn where she could share her knowledge and skills with the next generation of hopeful riders. As the barn continued to grow, the decision was made to focus on sales, lease, breeding, and boarding.

Jessica continues to attend clinics, show on both the local and A circuit, and ride with upper level riders at any opportunity in order to further her own skill set to help sculpt the potential partners that come into the barn.

Jessica offers Jumper, Hunter, and Equitation horses as well as lessons at Kismet Equestrian. Please feel free to call or email her with any "in search of" questions, or to schedule a visit to see some of the multiple horses available.
